If they are going to allow him to spend money (I wouldn’t) but they will have to give him until at least Christmas

Given how we’ve played the last few seasons we’d make a tough start of it if our first six games were against the relegation fodder.

I dont think it's that bad a start. OK, Tough first two games, then Fulham, but all of our other first 15 games are against teams who finished beneath us last season. We could have some real momentum by November.

Looks a decent start. At least one of West Brom and Leeds will probably suffer from the traditional play off hangover and it's good to get the better teams out the way early on before they get into their stride. And if Birmingham, Barnsley, and Charlton don't look like very winnable games we're not going anywhere this season anyway....

Tough start but our record against the top sides last season wasn't too bad.

Drew at Norwich.

Beat Sheffield United at home.

Drew at Leeds and beat them at home.

Drew home and away against West Brom.

Drew at Villa.

Drew at Derby and beat them at home.

Did the double over Boro.

If we have aspirations to go up then we shouldn't fear anybody. We have 9 pre season games so should me more than ready.

We're doing well against the better sides again this season, although it's early doors.
