What do we think about the Allardyce appointment then? I'm not really a fan of him but I actually think he'll do alright with England.......

Or not

I know they've started slowly but I'm also tipping Di Matteo and Guidolin to do well this season :worried_anim:

I see Rachel Riley is doing the Friday night games on Sky now. Do you think if Man Utd win the league she'd do a Lineker and present next season's in her pants?  That's nice.

I was at the West Ham v Chelsea match last night with work and it was like the fucking Wild West

There was fighting in the crowd pretty much throughout and at the end they just chucked everyone out together in the massive unlite areas around the stadium and there was fighting everywhere. Like a throw back to the 70's and hardly any police or cameras anywhere. I bet they stop away fans before too long. My dad said it was the same against Boro

I heard a conflicting report that plod had it totally sewn up outside apart from parrot headed stonewashed jeans & white Converse pumps brigade that were chucking things from behind the safety of the dividing netting.

This bell end is looking at a year plus & for what?

Not one punch thrown. The barrier of stewards that were probably kipping in the Calais jungle last week seemed to have done it's job.

Idiots like him make my piss boil. Giving it the big'un whilst behind the safety of 40 odd stewards. You can bet your life on it that he'd have slunked off after the match with his eyes barely lifting above ankle level.

I'd love it if one day the stewards just thought "fuck it this isn't worth it" and moved out the way. That bloke would be retreating like a Frenchman.

West Ham and Chelsea hooligans had arranged to meet up a mile away from where the game was being played. Unfortunately that was still inside the stadium.

(Shamelessly stolen from another forum)

Anyone else seen the Palace v Liverpool match highlights?

Blatant penalty not given against the big club else could've finished 3-3 also on the Spurs v Leicester match a non penalty given to the big club.

So much for refs not favouring the big clubs, this bollocks will never change.

Listening to Talk Sport last night or yesterday morning or something, I can't be expected to know what the time is, and they had who I assume was William Gallas on the phone talking about Chelsea....

Host: "And they're being link with Van Dijk, do you think he'd be good signing?"

Gallas: "Who?"

Host: "Virgil Van Dijk........the Southampton defender?"

Silence

Host: "Have you seen much of him?"

Gallas: "No. I don't know who he is".

:D Always good to get the opinion of an expert. Thanks for that.......

Not to say that there isn't an issue but I don't think Dwight Yorke is the right bloke to mention it.

I got as far as this 'Yorke, 45, said he knew of black former players who would not do coaching badges as they felt they had little chance of getting a coaching role.'

I'm not sure that coaching courses are the only way of being able to do the job but rules are rules and if you don't do them you aren't getting a job.  Even loads of coaches at amateur kids level of UEFA licences, you've got fuck all chance if you don't bother.

Surely if someone like Yorke who was supported by the fans when he played for United then the fans would have no problem if he was the right man for the job? It wouldn't even cross my mind about a managers colour if he could do a good job at our place. If I can watch and support a black player who not a manager?

So they don't do the badges because they won't get a job - you would have more of a case if you did the badges and then was refused an interview. He is another Bob Wilson and wants to walk into managing Villa or United - I bet he wouldn't cut his fucking teeth Hartlepools (as Brian always called them)

And I have never forgiven him for the way he treated Jordan and little Harvey 😉

Whilst I have little respect for Jordan and what she does for a living, you are correct, he showed the actions of an alley cat, lowest of the low.

Want to manage, start at the bottom and prove yourself. All he wants is a high profile job, it's not going to happen

Most top flight managers started somewhere less glamorous.  The rotating manager thing is just clueless chairman going with experience over untried even if the experience has proven to be shit.  Plus some managers will be excellent coaches but shit managers so keep getting offered another job on the back of their reputation as a coach - McClaren, Zola, etc.

I don't believe for a minute that if someone like, say Ashley Cole, wanted a job in the third or fourth division he'd struggle to get one.

Exactly Charlie. It's how you handle yourself and portray yourself, Yorke comes across as someone who will complain and argue about everything. Who would want to employ someone like that? Just look at how many jobs Davies has had since us....
