Premier League chit chat

Clichy is the other one I was after. It was in the Times on Monday, Schwarzer wasn't included there but you're right, he was at Chelsea and Leicester when they won the league.

Although it would be an exaggeration to say he 'played for them'

What is the minimum threshold for games played?

It could be argued that the likes of Drinkwater, De Laet and Danny Simpson won it while at Man Utd too 🤓

I've just looked this up and to qualify for a medal you have to play five games so I guess that rules out Schwarzer. It seems harsh on the keepers though.

It must be a weird life as a reserve keeper. You're training with the first team every day, travelling to all the games, getting changed, then just sit and watch the match and go home again. Again and again.

Some keepers have made a career out of it. Like Stuart Taylor...made 75 appearances in 20 years! In fact our very own Pantillimon has a pretty alarmingly low number of career first team appearances to say he's 32. If you look at his career it's only here and his very first club in Romania that he's been first choice.

Henri

Defoe

Yes to Defoe, Crouch, Fowler, Drogba, Sheringham, and Rooney.

Henry is ruled out as he was only on loan is his second time at Arse and that doesn't count in small print so small I didn't actually write it, Beardsley's goals were mostly pre-Premier League, and Cole I think was at Forest as a kid but not as a professional so that doesn't count.

One easy one left, the others are tough. The clubs with two spells may not be English....

Robbie Keane

Anelka tends to be the answer to most questions

Van Persie finished his career with his boyhood club?

Yes, to those three. Keane at Tottenham, Van Persie started and finished with Feyenoord, Anelka had two spells at PSG. I'll throw in Dion Dublin as he's a bit dubious, he had two spells with Norwich but didn't start a game in the first one.

One to go. It's a little bit sneaky......

I would have never got Dion Dublin, i don't remember a second spell, let alone the first you mention.

As you suggest it's sneaky, then is it Fat Frank Lampard as both player and manager?

If so, then include Shearer as both player and manager at Newcastle.

No, not a manager (or Les). Two spells at the same club as a player, but in a different way to the rest m1705.gif

Paul Scholes retired then came back. He must have 100 prem goals.

Liverpool are going to win the league then. That's a shame.

Art Trivia Challenge: Who are the all time top ten Nordic goal scorers in the Premier League?

(Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland. And there are actually eleven because the last two are level)

Tore Andre Flo

Eidur Gudjonson

Freddie Ljungberg

Wondering if Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in there too despite only playing one season
