Yeah I'd rather just muddle through with a makeshift defence than sign another leech for 18 months.

This is complete opinion and could be bollocks but MON strikes me as a cautious manager who may opt for the likes of Watson and Murphy in his side. Hope I'm wrong though.

Has there actually been any word that Keane is coming as well or is it just everyone assuming due to the Irish thing?

Depends on your personality or make-up I think. At United he was a leader who demanded 100% and incredibly high standards and luckily for him the players at United were born winners and ultra-professional. I'm not sure the same can be said at Forest.

Massively underwhelmed. Yes he had a poor selection of players to choose from with Ireland but he didn't even try and play football. It was turgid attritional stuff that makes Karanka look like Kevin Keegan. I hope he proves me wrong and gets us playing some decent stuff but it really seems like a backward step. Not a choice a forward-thinking club on the up would make.

    Karanka has gone

Hefele is one of the worst defenders I've seen play for us and that is saying something. He turns like a line of Asda trollies and looks like he's running through treacle with someone on his back. I can't believe we sent Worrall to Rangers and brought this clown in. The novelty wore off in about 5 minutes. There's a scout somewhere that needs to be sacked.

We aren't getting fucking Jardim He's one of the managers Man Utd were looking at for the summer FFS. Jokanovic is much more likely and I am for the appointment.
  8. The caretaker manager will play Appiah and Yates if he still wants his house and family in tact Monday morning.

Apparently he's done it for every game this season. His spy must have been having a slash in the bushes when Karanka put Colback up front

Yep. I imagine it will be one of the selling points to the new manager providing he's half-decent.

    Karanka has gone

Massive money spent Dour football especially at home Very average win record Supposedly thrown his toys out of the pram and has been in a mood in training No surprise to see him gone. These Greeks are not fucking about. They want promotion and they won't stop until it's done. Going back 5 years looking at the win percentages of the 6th placed team in the league. 17/18: Derby - 43.4% 16/17: Fulham - 47.8% 15/16: Sheffield Wednesday - 41.3% 14/15: Ipswich - 47.8% 13/14: Brighton - 41.3% To achieve a similar win % to the lowest figures there in the early 40s we'd have to now win at least half our remaining games (10 from 20) and under AK I'm not sure I could see that happening. We simply drew too many. It's alright being hard to beat and not losing but to go up you need to win games. Some will no doubt say what about total points including draws, seeing as we're draw specialists but obviously if you have aspirations of a top 6 finish then you need to be doing more than just drawing. Think about it though, the owners spent the money they have for one reason - promotion. FFP means we can't just spend it each season until we go up. This could be our best shot before we have to reign it in. Failure to win against Reading would mean we have 9 wins from 27 games this season. Only winning 33% of your games does not earn promotion and that is a fact. We simply don't win enough games. If our current win ratio was to continue for the final 20 games we'd end up with 15 wins. In the last 10 years the lowest number of wins anyone has had to finish 6th has been 19. Teams that win 15 games over a season tend to finish between 9th and 12th. So to get to 19 wins (which tends to be the minimum but is still sometimes not enough) we need to win 10 of our remaining 20 games. Or 10 wins from 19 if we fail to beat Reading.
  12. I've started a diet with the missus. Need to shift quite a bit of timber. Broke my leg in November so until this week I've been pretty stationary and obviously it's coincided with Christmas too. Also had shit luck with injuries over the past 6/7 years. Did my groin in 2011 and ended up being out until 2016 after it developed into a chronic pelvic and hip problem. So I'd lost my prime years (24-29) put weight on steadily over that time. Getting married doesn't help either Come to the conclusion my football days are over now which is a weird thought considering I've been obsessed with playing since I was about 6. Need a new sport to fill the void. I think golf will be it. I've played on and off for 2 years but could do with properly getting into it as I do love it but it's just so expensive for memberships etc.

I thought it seemed like Hart had regained some form as he was keeping Burnley in matches earlier this season. Surprised they ever bought him though with having Heaton and Pope.

I think they'll make him an offer he can't refuse...
  15. I must admit I wasn't for it originally but I'm definitely coming round to the idea. My main concern was how long it would take to make a decision and therefore kill the momentum of the game. But last night it didn't seem like too long a time although perhaps if you're actually in the stadium it might seem different. But the right decision was made which was all that mattered. And similarly with goal-line technology the players don't really have grounds to complain which is nice.

    FA Cup 2018/19

Totally agree. Mid table premier league teams putting out a weakened team just devalues the competition even more. They literally have nothing else to play for. Unfortunately I think I read that the financial difference between 9th and 10th finishes in the Premier League for example is higher than for winning the FA Cup. But you'd think the glory and prestige would trump that.

Surely Burnley can't afford to keep all three of them and surely at least one of them doesn't want to stay. They've all played for England in the last 2 years FFS now they're fighting for a place in the reserves. What with the rumours that we've enquired about Darlow too it's clear we've highlighted the keeper position as one that needs looking at. Which begs the question...why sign Pantilimon and Steele in the summer when neither are good enough. Now instead of 1 good keeper we have 4 average (at best) ones.
  18. How bad do you think they are? Do you seriously think that 10 mins of Appiah instead of Murphy or Yates instead of Guedioura would've turned the score from 2-0 to 5-0?
  19. ER didn't suggest starting them, he said bring them on when the game was lost towards the end. I fully agree with him. I think it was a deliberate ploy to send a message to EM that he doesn't have any depth to the squad. But to do that and deny promising kids the chance to test themselves against world class opponents when the game was lost is a cunts trick in my opinion.
  20. Why the fuck did he not use all 3 subs?? Makes no sense when the game was lost

    January transfer window

Dyche can enjoy the fact he's got 3 keepers all he likes but at least one of them will surely be pissed off at playing for England one minute and Burnley Reserves the next.
  22. Helps when you're a millionaire footballer too I certainly didn't get anywhere near that in my youth...
  23. Looks like he's shooting fine to me...
  24. I'll take the win but I thought we were pretty rubbish...even against 10. Karanka probably saved himself though for a bit.
