Robinson made some comments critical of O’Neill in the press apparently hence he wasn’t even in the squad yesterday. Shame given he is one of our better players usually.

We need to change to a 5year plan for promotion, not a one year turn around. Admit this to the fans and stop all this frustration each season with broken promises. Yates may become a top midfielder in a couple of years but he is currently a weak link in the spine of the team. He certainly tries harder than most but doesn’t have the cutting edge yet. Murphy is over the hill, again tries very hard but is never going to be our 15 plus goals a season striker. O’Neill is clearly looking to build the team out of players who work hard for the 90mins but unfortunately the only ones we have other than Lolley are not good enough to get us promoted.

I guess what I’m saying is we didn’t have much patience with all the other managers we have had so why start now? I would rather have given one of the other managers a longer run based on what I have seen regardless of whether he is the right man. Is Forests realisttic goal now to get into the Premier League in a years time or longer? It is important to know so we can measure success and expectations. Warburton was booted for change in expectations yet he was building us up into a good passing team, only the defence was horrific. I saw what he was trying to do and if he had 3 years he may have taken us forward. Based on O’Neills comments it sounds like he is going down a similar path, reassess the team, clear out, buy new players who want to play for club, develop youth and go again, all which I doubt will bring success in a year so if this is a longer term approach why change expectations.

Why give MON a summer to sort it out. Karanka was a one trick pony but still got him better results. Besides look what happened when Villa replaced Steve Bruce. That’s what impact I would have expected for us instead of going backwards. I totally agree in giving the right manager time but out of our last 6 managers there is nothing positive to take since Mon and Keane’s arrival. I’d rather go back to Warburton’s ‘we’re shit but we’re building for the future’ philosophy.

Totally agree. What worries me is the type of player MON can attract compared to Karanka. We shall have to see. Other than Lolley, Carvalho, Appiah, Yates(give them both a chance to develop), Robinson, Byram, Colback, Figuerido, I would happily move the rest of the squad on.

Thought he was going to mix it up a bit for rest of the season. Looks similar set up to midweek

And Carvalho. Basically our only decent players. Lolley will be next.

It’s a shame as I actually think we have some good players. Lolley, Robinson, Colback and Byram all have a place in this team. The rest are just numbers. Grabban clearly doesn’t want to be around any more.

All the players look good, just not gelling well. Shame we left our shooting boots at home also. Good game first half nonetheless

Lolley looking like he is up for this. Appiah looks awake also. Not a bad start for Forest
