  1. Fucking bent referees. We've had at least one this season. That's not just a problem with the modern game but its magnified now with all the betting in the far east.

He'd be perfect in Hobb's presence. Stoke wouldn't let him leave, surely? Even if it's only on loan?

I understand exactly what you're saying here, but I'm not sure that Lansbury's performances of late haven't either been poor because he's missed part of the pres-eason preparations and has been rushed back after injury or whether it's because he's trying to cover for Reid and is over-stretching himself. It's very frustrating because we know what he can do when he plays well. I think we did the right thing not to sell him, just gotta get him performing a bit better. I hope this international break has helped him.

I'm guessing that he's leaving the forum. It's hard to tell, though - it's all a bit wishy-washy, a bit unclear.
  6. Hmmm, so what you're saying is that... Labour and the Tories are all the same. The problem is that UKIP have members that were once members of the Tory party. So the question that drops out of that is... Saurus, are you comfortable with the fact that you've voted for a party (UKIP) that under their watch let thousands of young girls get abused?

It does seem like a case of sour grapes. He must be really cut up about not getting the job that Pearce is doing now. If he really cared about the future of one of the players he's inherited, he'd have stuck to the agreement.
  8. No they're not. There is the minimum wage. Under the early Blair years, Big Corporation said to the UK government, we'll bring jobs if you can find a way to bring down the price of hiring people, and Gordon Brown and Tony Blair bent over forwards to accommodate them with subsidised wages. This just perpetuates the low wage cycle and traps millions of people in poverty. The problem over wages isn't that international companies can't buy labour here in the UK, it's that when they try to, the UK employee is taxed out of the market. With taxation rates at 70% of income, it makes hiring of labour very very expensive for employers, when they could just go to china and pay 25% of what labour here costs. The real culprit here isn't even the big corporations, it a forty (or more) year old tax policy that's hugely broken.
  9. We have had three Labour governments who didn't represent the electorate. They fucked us over completely, especially the very low paid, they even introduced tax credits to make it easy for corporate monsters to pay even shitter wages, completely against the interest of the people that elected them. It's direct evidence that the Labour government only sponsored the interests of huge corporations, not of the people who elected them. So you won't be voting Labour next up then, if they've got to be sacked?
  10. Absolutely. We all were much safer as kids in those days, when we could innocently watch Rolf Harris on Vision On, or watch Top of the Pops with Dave Lee Travis or Jimmy Savile playing the latest record by Cliff Richard. Only sayin'...

That article is from April. What do we think they mean by 'next autumn'. It could mean the very next autumn that comes along (i.e. the one starting in September 2014) or the next after the one coming up, so the one starting in September 2015. It does read like they mean the latter one. There's nothing like clear unambiguous journalism, eh?

    Cost of football

It's been getting worse and worse for years, but it's all magnified by these FFP rules. As a club your ticket income is one of the main revenue streams, so the size of the crowd helps determine the amount of spend you can do. That just makes it clear that FFP only has one purpose - to keep the small clubs small.

That got posted a couple of days ago. It's absolute bollocks of the highest order. Down in the guts of the article it says: That actually says that we've not accepted any bids or are even looking to sell. No deal has been done. I've seen poor journalism but this is just cack. Lansbury may or may not leave, but I think the Mail here are just making up shit. It's so unlike them...

There are many on here that would find this a positive step. http://www.nottinghampost.com/Greg-Halford-Danny-Collins-available-transfer/story-22211530-detail/story.html
