Looking likely that it will be a local consortium headed up by some dude called Mark Arthur

I'd be amazed if this comes to pass. If Arthur is serious about heading a consortium he's going need serious backers who are willing to take a massive gamble. The fact that the club relied on a generous benefactor during Mark Arthur's tenure as CEO would in my opinion not sit favourably with would-be investors.

I'd love to see the type of business model any such consortium proposes. If it is a self sustainable club they are aiming for then it's a real gamble as you're looking at a permanent residence in the Championship or at best a miracle worker like Paul Lambert taking you up. The other option is to invest in playing staff in the belief that it will get you up, the problem is we've tried that in patches and it didn't work out. Plus if the financial fair play rules kick in its not an option either.

The other thing that strikes me is why would he want it? I mean he's taken serious criticism from the support base and surely now wants a new challenge?

I don't care who the new owners are as long as they:

(a) Get rid of Mark Arthur.

That's pretty much it.

I'd like Cotterill to go too but getting rid of MArthur has to be the prime objective. It's hard to see how any new owner/s would be prepared to let him stay on.

Well according to ***** Forum its a done deal and all is complete but they don't know who is taking over as they have been told. two different names by two sources.

So 2 done deals and no one at NFFC knows anything about it and nothing in the media. Yes 2 different sources know who it is and they are both different and both say the deal is done don't you just love bullshit.

£100 million of Doughty's money should have been happy days :suicide_anim:

Less than half of that is probably much closer to the truth .. Plus there's the Arthur factor which, I'm given to understand , will be removed.....

Yeah, I can't imagine new owners would keep that clown around.

Arthur, Clarke and Cotterill will be shown the door I imagine.
